Much of Dr McMillan's work as a hematologist has focused on immune thrombocytopenic purpura. He has published over 70 articles and reviews on the topic, including several guideline articles for the American Society of Hematology. He is a passionate advocate for people with ITP and serves as an Emeritus advisor for the Platelet Disorder Support Association.
